Canberra Balloon Festival 2012

The Canberra Balloon Festival is held on the lawns in front of Old Parliament House where up to 40 balloons will inflate at sunrise each morning (weather permitting), and after a gentle lift off, fly over the lake and city. Balloons come from all over Australia and overseas. It is unique in the sense that Canberra is the only capital city in the world where you are able to fly a balloon over and to be able to find landing spots. Weather conditions also play an important roll. Local pilots can fly almost 200 days in a year. On assignment for AAP.
